I am a single mom with three little ones ages 5, 2 and a newborn daughter that is just 2 1/2 weeks old. Throughout my pregnancy I had severe hyperthyroidism and was at risk of heart failure, and so I was pretty much bedridden on doctors orders for modified bedrest during the whole pregnancy and couldn’t work. I have been able to receive a little bit of cash each month through DSHS but that doesn’t even begin to cover my rent let alone cover any auto repairs that I have. It is really difficult trying to go anywhere on the bus with a newborn two-year-old and a five year old so a car is essential.
I am also going to be looking for work soon now that the pregnancy is over and is not affecting my thyroid or heart as badly as it was before I gave birth.
My car is not safe to drive at the moment as it needs the motor mount bushings done, as well as some suspension work (I was informed that it has the original suspension from 2003 when it was manufactured and has had six owners before me). It is making a really loud clunking noise and I need new brakes as well. I am just trying to get it to the point where it is safe to drive as I’m scared to drive it around at this point.
I am trying to find help to pay my back rent at the moment as well and using any cash I get to go towards that so I don’t really have any money to spare for auto repairs. I have gotten a few quotes and I am trying to raise at least $1000 and that should cover the parts as well as the labor to get my car safe again.
Also, about a month ago someone smashed my driver side window and rummage through my car as well. So it would be nice to go to a pick and pull and try and obtain a window for that side as right now I just have heavy duty plastic and duct tape covering it.
If anyone could help me with raising the money for this, I would be forever grateful.
The father of my 2 yr old and newborn isn’t really doing much to help, and is not a supportive person to me so it’s pretty much just me and my 3 daughters. I have no family in the area besides my dad and he is low income as well.
I’m just in a bad situation and trying to keep my head above water and slowly but surely regain my life back (financially speaking).
Thank you for taking to time to read this!!
