I want to start by thanking you for your consideration. I know everyone works very hard for their money and some of the most generous people are those who don’t have it to share. I appreciate your kindness tremendously.
In 2020, I lost my Mom suddenly to Diabetes. As you can imagine, her passing rocked me to my core. For the next 12 months, my mental health took a turn for the worse and I strongly contemplated committing suicide. I was forced to quit my job and relied heavily on my family to take care of my Mom’s funeral arrangements and distribute the funds she left in her Trust. Without going into too many details, I was gravely taken of advantage of and lost roughly $50,000. Because I wasn’t working, I was forced to tap into my savings and sell the property she worked so hard to develop. Using this money, I was able to move out of the city, away from my family and start the healing process safely.
I will never be the same without my Mom, but my mind is stable now, and I was able to start a small business with a college friend in 2022. The risk was high, but we both were committed to making things work and have witnessed seasons of fruitfulness. However, as many people know, owning a small business can be unpredictable and we have faced our hardest season over the past 6 months, bringing in no revenue. Once again, I was forced to tap into my savings, exhausting them this time to keep the business afloat. I have since started applying for additional employment to supplement my income which leads me to my presenting issue.
They say when it rains, it pours. My car broke down 2 months ago making a job search extremely defeating. This support does not only support me, but my Son who is currently living with his Grandmother while I get back on my feet. My son things I’m a Hero and I don’t want to disappoint him.
