I’m in a bit of a pickle, my car has needed some rather large repairs…I have debilitating incurable medical issues that started at birth that prevent me from working. Unfortunately I was recently forced to spend almost twice my monthly disability check on getting repairs to get it to restart my car inside a week, after having had enough to spend enough on repairs the month before to take up most of my check or that month.
I get little enough I can’t afford a new car. As things stand even if someone just gave me a brand new car all paid off (no work needed and assume that the insurance costs weren’t upped), I still couldn’t afford the registration, tags, and any other fees needed for anything new…even paying for gas through the rest of the month is now almost impossible. I would have had a hard time paying for those things even if I had been handed a shinny new vehicle right before my existing car had needed the sudden repairs.
When all is said and done my now 20+ year old car has features that are no longer (as far as I know) on the market in newer cars that because of my medical issues I am almost need to have in a vehicle. I even say the fact it’s hacker proof (no internet or wireless features) is a safety feature (even more true as I am currently on the run from a violently abusive software engineer). With the exception of all the TLC it has recently started needing it meets all of my transportation/car needs. Short version given any choice I would very much prefer be able to hang on to this particular car rather than get a new one, especially if I had to take a risk on another used one.
Long story short I am trying to get money for the repairs that it needs in the foreseeable future as the mechanic warned that while it is now running there are still several things it needs, and that’s assuming there isn’t anything more unexpected, which I am desperately hoping there aren’t.
I would love it if I could get it all from something like coming up with a million dollar idea, or a sweepstakes win but I haven’t had that kind of luck…and it isn’t for lack of sweepstakes entries, just lack of luck.
Until my luck changes for the better I would be grateful for any help people can give me with some funds toward my car repairs.
