Hi I’m Arielle Rudolph. I’m 28 years old and I guess it’s time to tell my story. I have 5 younger siblings, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Before the younger two were born we were taken from my mom for good reason. We had been left in abandoned houses for days at a time and I’ll just say it was necessary for CPS to get involved. However the worse day of my life is still the day we were taken to a place where we waited for our foster parents to come get us. My 3 year old sister and 1 year old brother went to one family and me and my 5 year old sister went to another one. My grandma on my dads side didn’t know things were so bad and by the time she found out it was just a matter of time before we were taken. First the younger two were forced to leave us, so little and so scared. I still remember how hard it was when me and my sister had to say bye to our grandma. I remember she said “When you miss me look at the stars and whatever star you’re looking at I’m looking at the same star”. We always looked out the window at the stars when we couldn’t sleep. My grandma didn’t give up on us either. She had one son and she gave up her life for 4 grandchildren. When I say she gave up her life I’m not exaggerating. She lost her home, job car and a lot more trying to get us out of foster home. Both foster families we went to weren’t good people, in fact they are not allowed to have any other foster kids. There’s a lot more that happened but none of it matters. I’m telling you this story because I want you to know how amazing my grandma is. She managed to get us out of foster home and back together, she moved us to Pine Grove Ca. At first we lived with family but eventually we got our own apartment and to this day my grandma still lives in that apartment complex. Anyways I said I had 5 younger siblings right? Well my mom and dad had another boy and girl in the time it took my grandma to get a place. When they were 2 and 3 my grandma moved them in with us so they wouldn’t be taken away. It was a hard transition for everyone. I had the best childhood after that. My grandma made sure we had everything we needed and most of what we wanted. We had amazing Christmas’. We played softball every year and we were able to grow up together in a small town where we made lifelong friends. The tables have turned and it’s my turn to take care of my grandma. All my siblings are busy and they don’t have the time to help and I just recently gave up everything to be there to help her. She can’t do anything on her own anymore and it is hard for me to accept it. She can’t brush her hair or even change the channel on the remote. I’m trying to take care of her and I really need a new car. I can’t take her to her appointments and I can’t work to save to buy myself a car. So here I am telling the story I never wanted to tell so I can hopefully get some help with getting a new car and be able to do all I can for my grandma.
