Hello, I’ve never done anything like this before but I just need to explore all my options. First and foremost, thank you so much for even considering or taking the time to read.
My situation is as follows:
I am a hard working person, I save, pay every bill, and do my best to uplift those around me. Just recently we had a terrible blizzard where I live. My Job didnt close like the rest of the city and on my way in to work I was run off the road. The car was honking and sliding into my lane, I went to get out of the way and its sent me into the guard rail. The other car recovered and took off while I got crunched and spun 180°.
My car was totaled. It was declared my fault since he didn’t stop. I purchased an older car, a 2000 Jeep with the $2000.00 dollars I got from insurance and my savings. I preformed my due diligence and took it to a shop to get checked out. They said the body wasn’t perfect but mechanically it only needed a few things; “wouldn’t cost more than 600.”Turns out the sellers of the car knew the shop owner. Who was in turn helping his friend sell a problem car. When I took the car to Napa across from my home I was hit with a $2500.00 dollar repair bill. This was the honest diagnosis of what was wrong with the car. I have price hunted, purchased my own parts and I was able to find someone who did it for me for $1200.00. After leaving it at the shop for a week and coordinating rides I got the car back. Hooray right!? No, the next day the engine made a horrible noise and the check engine light was flashing. I have contacting 3 separate repair places and im told I am chasing multiple possible diagnosis and might as well buy a new engine, cheapest in town in $2500.00 dollars. The car was $3,900.00 cash to begin with. I don’t have a lot and I was trying to just get something reliable to get me by. So now I’m really trying to make it work. Price hunting, YouTube, ect. ect. I specifically purchased an older car to compensate for the insurance increase heading my way but have just been done dirty every step of the way.
On top of the car, 3 weeks ago I was hurt while helping a neighbor in their garage. My foot got banged up and infected. I went to an urgent care after I wasn’t able to fix the wound myself. They gave me tests and sent me with antibiotics for the infection working its way into my foot. Tests came back positive for staph but the antibiotic they gave me didn’t cover staph. They didn’t change my scrip at all however to account for the staph. The external wounds healed but a staph infection moved into the soft tissues in my leg. After an awfully painful day at work I went to the ER. My leg was swollen and walking was simply not even a functional option. I brought with me all of my paperwork from urgent care. I was told by the ER doctor I was lucky I came in when I did. I needed IV antibiotics, (the correct kind), ultrasounds for blood clots and had staph in the soft tissue moving up my leg. another few days and I would have needed surgery. I am so blessed that didn’t happen.
All of that having been said. I now have 2 huge medical bills. One from the ER. along with one from the urgent care; (which didnt provide me with proper care).
I like to think I am not stupid but I am young and my savings of $2000.00 dollars is all but gone. Any other emergency hits and I’m finished. I can’t afford a new engine. I cannot in good conscience try and sell the car without disclosing the issues. I have 2 daunting medical bills. I am genuinly in a position where I just need help. Having to ask is humiliating to me and honestly whatever anyone is kind enough to offer would be a grace I couldn’t even begin to fathom. If I can contact you I’ll provide you with receipts or whatever you would like to show the work being done and proof this isn’t fake.
That’s enough from me though. Thank you very much for your time and I am sorry for the sob story. I have tried to attach pictures but it says the file size is too large. It won’t accept anything larger than .5 mb and the pictures arent even able to be read clearly at that low of quality.
