I am a 22 year old girl living alone abroad trying to make ends meet. I have made it so far on my own, but today I am here asking for anything people can spare towards my situation.
I have exhausted my options, and I am here asking for your help.
I thought I was on the right path of getting my life together this year: I have been renting a room as a lodger, saved up and bought my first ( 14 year old) car while waiting to pass my driving test which is now due in January.
After my rent, learner driver insurance and bills I am left with less than £70 to buy food and commute to work for the month. Then the corona crisis hit, and furlough has been barely enough for me to pay my rent and expenses. I am stuck in this circle that I cannot get out of on my own – I need a better job to afford basic living conditions and getting out of my lodger accommodation, so for that I need to be able to drive. But to drive I need to be able to afford lessons, and I need to be able to repair my car and get it ready for its annual MOT due this month. I would be forever grateful for anything you could spare to help me put money towards my rent and car fund. I never thought I would find myself in this predicament, as I always worked hard and living from one pay check to another but somehow making the most of it.
My car’s MOT is due this month, and with its age, the engine and battery lights on I haven’t got much hope for passing. I don’t want to think of an estimate bill, and with my £70 monthly food budget…paying it off is a dream that I can only hope to achieve.
I will not forget any act of kindness, and when times get better I will likewise share the support to someone in need. Thank you for taking your time to read my story.
