Eton Mess Catering, unique name for a person like me. My name is Carrissa and I have been a chef for over 15 years and still love every moment. A little back story on me, I am four out of eight and love it. growing up with a large family has taught me how to cook for large parties, time management skills and how to handle several different personalities screaming what they want to eat for dinner. I had to learn how to for myself on Sunday when I went to school, that took some use. Life for me have not always been easy. There were days and months I was homeless, went to work every day like nothing was wrong. there were times I got over looked for promotions, and I continued to work the same. Each knew experience was teaching and preparing me for the fright moment and to achieve. It took several years to understand my purpose here and every day I strive to achieve that goal. I worked several years in the industry from restaurants, hotels, schools, catering companies, senior homes, private chef, one thing I realized, I can do this for myself. With everything I been through and the God giving opportunity I was giving in harsh times this past year to start my business with both legs in.
I was called back several states away to come start with a couple as their private chef. This was new experience as well. I had no idea where to start or do. Cooking is the easy part running a business with no experience is not easy. I did the best I could and now I want to move forward way from the private sector and actually teach. As strange as it sounds, I love watching others cook things that they never thought they could. For my next step I want to open and successfully operate cooking classes. After carefully researching and develop a plan. To start off small of course, found an open floor plan building that will allow me to host 10 cooking stations; each station will have their own box. Each box will contain, burners, knife set, bowls, pots, and cutting boards, utensils. Because I believe everyone should be able to learn I also have special classes for people with dietary restrictions and their special box made the same just colored (purple). I want to teach everyone that eating healthy and cooking don’t have to be this world class top of the line all day long process. You can cook a gourmet meal in less than hour, even thirty minutes sometimes.
Not having great credit and I’m not able to get my business credit building. So, with the world doing what it’s doing I needed to look elsewhere for support. Cooking is my passion and helping someone achieve a learning experience is a really cool experience to share.
