I am a woman living in south suburbs of Chicago with a trucking business I run h manage from home & my husband is the driver. We have our own authority. Just recently, during the month of April, the shipper we were contracted with through our broker, dropped us as a carrier for hauling their product. They decided to hire their own company drivers. That gap in no income lasted 6 weeks before the shipper decided to give outside carriers another try. Meanwhile, that put us behind in EVERYTHING! Rent, utilities, unpaid invoices, credit cards, lenders, insurances, repairs and maintenance on our vehicles (2 semi trucks & company vehicle) and everyday living. So started back working, but, instead of getting 2 loads per week like we did before, we only received 1 load a week. That cut our income in half as we struggled to catch up. But, things got worse. The income drought happened again in July. Our broker went on vacation and no shipments again. This time the shippers own company driver got into an accident in California and killed 5 people and are being sued. So now, they have merged with a larger company to do the driving for them which left us out completely. It took us another month to sign up with another company as an independent contractor. Our first check last week was what we used to make in a day and that quickly disappeared. My lights were just shut off today so I’m sitting here thinking of a way to keep my basement from flooding due to the sump pump not being operable because the electricity is off. I’m just short of a nervous wreck.
I’m asking for $100,000.00 to cover all debt and peace of mind. I’ve always wanted to do the very thing you guys are doing here for people like me and more. My dream is to become financially wealthy enough to help people. But, I guess I have to help myself. Eventhough some parts of my situation is in a strain right now, I’m not giving up! I’m determined to live, laugh, love & succeed. Rome wasn’t built in a day. I’m hoping and praying that you can help us.
