I did not think my life would get to this level within a year.
I graduated from a college back in 2014, got an offer to work at a bank as a loan officer at decent salary but had to turn it down since my parents wanted me to help them to run a small restaurant. We bought the business from a church member, did not have realtor or lawyer to handle everything thinking we had everything under control. Who would have thought that church member that we have known over 20yrs would try to harm us in anyway? Well, we learned some expensive lesson. This lady did not pay ANY tax for 8 years while in business, did not tell us at all and we had to find out about it little after we took over the business. We did not have much funds left since we barely bought the business and 8 years worth of taxes and interest were just something that could not be paid from our pocket. We had to get some additional loans from the bank which was a short term relief.
Now we are in 3rd year of the business and trying our best to stay on top of all the payments that we have to pay back. And then… Hurricane Harvey hit.
Both 2 A/C units were damaged due to flooding and it is going to cost around $10,000 to replace. Our house situation seems even worse. Whole roof need to be replaced and that is another $15,000. We do have an insurance but flooding is not included.
we could not operate for three weeks so cannot pay rent or loan and many more. All my credit cards are maxed out, car payments are overdue.
I am overly stressed and keep using my credit card to cover some funds here and there and it is not looking good at all.
i would really appreciate all the help. It will mean so much to us. I am hopeless at this moment and honestly not sure how much longer i can take all this stress.
