Hello, I’m writing on behalf of Carlos who is trying to restore his business after extortionists took his office equipment. We hope you can help us please.
Carlos first set up a business in 2020, a small barbershop in Colombia. He worked very hard and was incredibly proud of the finished result which he thought was the trendiest in the area. After being open only a short time, the Covid pandemic struck and due to lockdown no customers could go to the barbershop. Due to not making any profit and being unable to pay the rent his landlord asked him to vacate the property and the business was lost.
After lockdown was lifted he saved enough money to set up a new business, CMR Group, helping clients with cybersecurity and financial advice. He specialises in helping people with low credit scores get the finance they need. The business had only started trading after I had helped him buy computer equipment and air conditioning for his office when demands started arriving from extortionists. We couldn’t afford their extreme demands so they smashed the windows of the office and took computer equipment (laptops, PCs and a large printer). His staff of three were also threatened and assaulted and Carlos was held hostage for two weeks.
We eventually managed to pay their demands by taking out a loan and using a credit card. We would like to ask for $15,000 to replace the stolen office equipment and to pay off the debts we have accrued so that Carlos can start his business again and re-employ his staff who have been out of work the whole time. It means so much to him and to his staff.
