Hi, I am a single mother of 4. I was born and raised with nothing and due to the fact that I dropped out of school and had my first kid at 16 , I always felt that I would end up being that way forever. Then my oldest son died in an motorcycle accident and everything in me changed. I decided that I wasn’t going to let this world tell me who I had to be. I enrolled in college and with no formal education graduated with honors and earned a 3.9 GPA. I am now trying to open my own store in the perfect spot. Which is right on the beach. I have spoke to the landlord and been approved to lease the building. I have been approved by the city. I have written a 35 page business plan and even started saving money for this three years ago by putting change in empty water bottles. After counting all my savings I have a total of $4,341 which is not close to enough. The location alone is $8400 for first, last, and deposit. I also need insurance, technology, remodeling, merchandise, merchandise equipment, marketing, etc. My budget shows I need $13,000- $15,000 more to be secure enough to make it. This has been something that I have dreamed of for as long as I remember and I have all the faith in the world that I will be successful. I have applied for loans but have been denied. I have asked friends and family without even one person saying here’s $5.00. I do not have anywhere left to turn and im about to lose this location which is extremely important to my success.
