Ace of Trades drywall and painting specialist

Hello everyone. My name is Jacob. My company name is going to be Ace of Trades drywall and painting specialist. Because an ace always beats Jack.

Honestly I’m here asking for some help because since 2020 when I separated from my wife of 8 years/ together for 24 years and moved from California to Colorado my life has been somewhat rough. When I got to Colorado it was fine at first. I got a job in construction and was living with my sister. That didn’t last too long because me and my brother-in-law could not get along. Two alpha males in the same household just became a problem. From there I did roommate type situations and the last of which turned out to be quite the ordeal. I rented a room from my coworker who turned out to be a con artist. She wasn’t even supposed to be living in that house and she didn’t pay any rent but definitely took rent from me. One night she came to the house packed up all her valuables and left. Turns out the sheriff came to evict us couple of days later. When I moved to Colorado I brought my Chevy Silverado with me. Well, with 384,000 miles on it, it finally broke down. To repair it would have been an arm and a leg. So I bought a cheap little car from a friend of a friend for 500 bucks. After the eviction me and my girlfriend at the time we’re living out of that car. And as it goes my luck, the car broke down as well. So with no car I couldn’t make it to work on time everyday. So I was fired. I had never been fired in my life. That is a very heart-wrenching feeling. So with no job no car I became homeless. I worked for a day labor company for a little while, but the money I made there was going to hotel rooms and food if we were lucky. As you can imagine after going through a separation having been conned and two vehicles break down on me I became severely depressed. I felt like I was worthless, hopeless, helpless and didn’t want to even try anymore. It took me a while to finally go and get the help I needed from a therapist. That therapist prescribed me some medication and some intense I would say sessions. I’m finally feeling like my old again.

I have always been a hard worker. From 2013 to 2016 I ran my own home remodel and handyman service. I even had two employees ( friends of mine). Did pretty well for those first three years then the work started to slow down significantly. I had to lay my employees off and go get a day job myself. I managed a warehouse on the weekdays and still did little side jobs on the weekends. When I ran my business my favorite jobs to get was drywall repair or installation and painting. I’m really good at drywall repair. I can make holes disappear and I can also match any type of texture. Painting is actually soothing to me. It’s a job that requires very little thought.I would just blast my music and get it done. So that is what I would like to do again. Work for myself and not for a company a big company at that, that sees their employees as replaceable. So I am here humbly asking for any help to get me back to doing what I am good at and what I actually like to do.

Being homeless has its disadvantages especially when it comes to money. I have always cared about my appearance and my personal hygiene. So not showering was not an option for me. I have rented and been in quite a few hotel rooms. Some better than others. You do get what you pay for when renting hotel rooms. With that being said it’s really tough to save money out here. The things that I need help with to start my business is

#1 A business license and insurace

#2 A truck or cargo van

#3 painting equipment ex. Paint sprayer, brushes etc.

#4 Drywall tools

The tools and equipment I can get used for cheap. Until I can afford the newer toys. The money maker is of course the truck. It hauls materials, the manpower and its a rolling advertisement for your company. I’m not asking for anything brand new or fancy, I just need a solid reliable truck.

I want to thank all of you who have read this far into my story. Thank you for your time and you’re consideration. I am extremely grateful there are places like this and people like you in this world. God bless.
