We have several old dogs that need medical care. Charlie, a 15 year old Jack Russel as a mass on her kidney. She needs lats of tests and possibly exploratory surgery just to find out what is going on. She is a sweet lady, and is in distress right now. Out 16 year old Chihuahua Mollie has both eyes that are very swollen. She is blind, and the swelling is very painful. The best treatment is to have her eyes removed. This will eliminate the pain, ans she is already blind, so it won’t matter to her. Betty, our 13 year old chihuahua has really bad arthritis, and needs surgery on her spine to fuse her vertebrae and relieve the pain. We always scrape up the money to help or old dogs, but we are having a hard time lately. We have taken in dogs, old and young that have been rejected or given up for health or behavior reasons Over the years we have fostered over 100 dogs, and spent a lot of money on them, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Other bills have made it hard lately to keep up, so we are asking for help. Any money you can give will be of great help! We have a great veterinarian who give us a bit of a discount, but even so, it cost a lot when complicated medical problems crop up. Mollie is going in next month for her eye surgery. She is such a trooper, but she will be so much better off without the painful eyeballs. Charlie is still on a figure out what’s going on status. She is on antibiotics and pain killers to keep her comfortable. Oh yes, she also has spinal stenosis, bit seems to be getting around OK with that; her tumor being the main concern. For her, after 10 days or so on the medication, it’s off to a specialist to figure out if her tumor is cancer, infection, or ??? Some people wonder why we would spend so much time and money on helping out dogs, but if you’ve read this far you likely understand. Dogs are a special creation, and they have a special bond with people. They rely on us for their well being both emotionally and of course medically. After running a dog rescue and placement for many years, we are now basically a hospice and retirement center for old dogs. Please help if you can, and we will be eternally grateful!
