My name is Sam. I am 17 years old and have diagnosed Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. As a result, I have an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). He is a 4 month old ferret named Leonard. However, I recently lost my job after being rendered unable to work because of a flare up of all of my mental illness issues, so I am running out of money very quickly. As a result, being able to take care of Leonard is getting harder and harder.
My goal as of now is about $1000. This will cover the cost of a good cage (he is getting too big for his current starter cage), ferret-proofing supplies (so he can get more time out of his cage to run around), repaying debt (a friend loaned me several hundred dollars for his initial expenses), vet bills (he is due for a checkup, rabies shot, and microchip), and future expenses (food, litter, etc).
If I cannot raise enough money, I will be forced to give him up to a shelter. This will not only be detrimental for my own mental health, but is also something he should not have to go through himself.
